Montréal-Trudeau International Airport: Accessible and Efficient

TRAIN

VIA Rail offers several daily trips from various Canadian cities to Montréal, or to the Montréal-Trudeau Airport, in Economy or Business Class with Wi-Fi service available on board.
Amtrak offers passengers travel from the United States to Montréal, linking from many cities on the American East Coast, including New York and Boston.

 

MOTORCOACH

The Orléans Express bus offers departures every hour from downtown Montréal to Québec City (3 hours), and every two or three hours from downtown to Montréal-Trudeau Airport.

 

Getting Around

 

Public Transit

The Société de Transport de Montréal (STM) offers tourists passes valid for a one, three or seven-day period, allowing them unlimited access to its bus and métro (subway) network.

Rates for adults (subject to change):

1 trip: $3

1-day card (24h): $10

3-day card – consecutive: $18

Unlimited week-end (from Friday 6 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m.): $13

The STM’s 747 shuttle bus from the airport to downtown is an economical choice at just $10 per person.

Taxi

Taxis are an inexpensive and comfortable way to get around Montréal. You’ll find taxi stands at most hotels and major commercial centres. It’s always easy to hail a cab on main streets or you can ask your hotel concierge to call a taxi for you.

Cost of a taxi ride (subject to change):

  • Cost at the start of a ride: $3.45
  • Taximeter rate: $1.70 per kilometre
  • Cost for waiting: 63 cents per minute

For transportation between the airport and downtown, there is a flat rate of $43 per trip, which takes about 20 minutes.

 

CAR RENTAL

Major car rental companies have offices at the airport and throughout Montréal so renting a car is a breeze.

Private car service with a chauffeur is also available with several companies offering transfer services with a driver or driver/guide. Check with your hotel concierge for these services.

 

Limousine

In Montréal, the flat rate for limousine transportation between the airport and downtown runs from $55 to $60 per trip, which takes about 20 minutes.
